Graphite Pencil Drawings 〰️

I’m a Maine artist who loves drawing animals with graphite pencil. Dogs and cats are: adorable, loving, faithful, mischievous, naughty, provide wonderful emotional companionship and should be loved and treated well by the families that own them.

Pencil drawings are a wonderful form of creativity. Being able to look at a form, image or even an idea in your imagination and be able to duplicate it on paper is really really nice.

I was five or six years old when the first picture I remember drawing was a hacienda and a donkey while at school. I remember looking at the drawing and thought gee, this looks similar to the image I used as a reference.

The drawing to the right of the Yorkshire Terrier was draw on Arches Extra White, 100% cotton drawing paper. Made in France it is suitable for pencil, pastel, charcoal, felt pens and crayons.  For those who are interested in creating their own artwork I’ve included tips through out this website.

For the purpose of this website I’ve put together a gallery page of graphite drawings to let readers get a more comprehensive look at my style of drawing.
